Manic Monday: Green

Hello Manic Minions, this Mondays theme is Green. As some of you may know, i have been ill with a chest infection the last couple of days. So what could i have come up with that's green?

As disgusting as i am and as tempted as i was. I haven't posted what i have been coughing up!
So back to Green, what have i gone with?
One of my Favourite dance tracks, otherwise known as Scouse House because it originates from Liverpool. Not that i can dance but i try :)
So this is Pretty Green Eyes by Ultrabeat
I think some more than others will like this video!

Also while looking in Wikipedia at Green, I came across this fact:
In high schools in the United States during the 1960s, it was widely believed that if someone wore green on Thursdays, it meant that they were homosexual.
Anyone know if this fact is true?

  1. I was so looking forward to x-rays of congested lungs, hacking, and pflegm deposits. Great song.

In California Green had to be worm by everyone on Thursday otherwise you got pinched. I rarely heard the subject of being gay/lesbian even mentioned, but I was in a pretty open minded area so everyone knew who was who, it just wasn't talked about as that would upset the parents.

  2. You've probably stumbled upon an urban legend there - although I don't know for sure.

We refused to wear any green in high school because that was the color of our hated cross town rival.

  5. Great post Claire. I even like the music. Okay, to the question about wearing green. I never heard of it and I graduated High School in 1969. Heck back then gay was being very happy. Yes, there were gay folks, but no one talked about! It's much better now. Happy MM :)

  9. I've not heard that one about the green, but some gay friends did tell me that wearing different coloured hankerchiefs in different pockets indicated whether you were available or not.

Love the music, I almost got up and danced then I remembered my knee!!! ;)

  16. I don't know about the sixties, but in the seventies and eighties, if you wore green to your typical American school on a Thursday, it meant you were HORNY!
Also, if you ate green M&M's it meant you were horny as well.

  19. I saw sick and thought, lung butter. Glad that wasn't the topic. I have never heard of green meaning that. Speaking to what akelamalu said, I always thought different colored bandannas in pockets let people know what gang you were in. Then again I grew up in the 80s not the 60s

  20. Well thank goodness you didn't post pictures of phelgm! I actually rather liked this song though, like yourself, cannot dance for beans!

As for the "Green Myth", that's one I've never heard of! Maybe Mo could help out with that one??

  21. Good grief! I'm the one person to know about green on Thursdays???
Yes, if you wore green with pink on Thursdays, it meant you were gay! I thought EVERYONE knew that!!! I graduated in 1965 in SoCal.
My group always wore pink and green just to tick everyone else off and take away their fun.
