Operation Time

A SHORT HISTORY OF MEDICINE:
"Doctor, I have an ear ache."

2000 B.C. - "Here, eat this root."

1000 B.C. - "That root is heathen, say this prayer."

1850 A.D. - "That prayer is superstition, drink this potion."

1940 A.D. - "That potion is snake oil, swallow this pill."

1985 A.D. - "That pill is ineffective, take this antibiotic."

2000 A.D. - "That antibiotic is artificial. Here, eat this root!"

The Cupboard Monster (the mother) will be operated on sometime tomorrow morning.
I typed Femoral Screw into google and this is the lovely diagram i got:
I will let you know how she is when i know.

The surgeon told his patient that woke up after having been operated: "I'm afraid we're going to have to operate you again. Because, you see, I forgot my rubber gloves inside you." "Well, if it's just because of them, I'd rather pay for them if you just leave me alone."

  2. Hope Mom does well with the surgery tomorrow.

At the risk of seeming crude, however, there are, uh, better ways of getting screwed.

    No, wait... let me rephrase....

  4. I'm with Sandee - but what really gets me is how hard they pound away with mallets and hammers. It's no wonder you're all bruised after surgery! And I absolutely refuse to ever have liposuction!!! They ram that tube that sucks the fat out like it's a weapon!
Sure hope they get your mum sorted out and fixed properly this time!

  5. I'm with Gracie on this one! Despite all the advances in medicine some things are still quite archaic, aren't they?

Hope all goes well! Keep us posted!

  6. Loved your progression on the medicines from way back when to the current day. Pretty doggone true too. Nowadays, the new fancy meds often don't work the way the once did because we've been overmedicated with them and built up an immunity to the meds so it's back to square one then for us ya know!
Have a great day kid! Hope the Mum keeps on doing better every day!
