Bloggers Unite in Acts of Kindness

Over at Blog Catalog (my second home), the very enthusiastic admin and owner team are very passionate when it comes to using the Power Of Blog for good.
The last cause was Blogging Against Abuse which quite frankly I put as much effort into as it takes to turn on the computer and waffle a bit. Luckily others did a much better job than I and wrote some great posts. So this time around I am going to put a wee bit more effort into promoting it and participating.
Although Blog Catalog started off as blog directory it has evolved into a much more social monster with the capacity to start your own discussions, join groups and ask for help on nearly anything. They set up the Blog Unite group and its here that you can find out all the ongoing information on the latest project.
What is the new project? Its is 'Acts of Kindness', you simply do something kind and post about it on December the 17th. It is totally up to you what this act may be, from doing something for charity to feeding the homeless and anything in between. Do whatever you feel comfortable doing, I have not decided what exactly my act is going to be yet. I am planning on doing more volunteer work, so I may focus on that or I might spend the day helping the elderly cross the road. You don't have to be a member of Blog Catalog and you don't even have to have a blog. Although i do highly recommend joining Blog Catalog as its been a great source of help for me.

Here is a video message that sums it up: Warning extreme 'cheesy' moments are displayed but should not harm your health.

PS, there are some rather cool prizes to be won, but its not really about that now is it.

  1. What a great idea! I'm working a double shift that day but I suspect I could find something good to do that day (does dispatching an ambulance on an emergency count??). Of course, I won't be able to blog about it until just before the day is over when I get home at 11:00 p.m. but I guess that counts, right??

I'll have to pass this on to some of my readers, too, if'n you don't mind that is!
