Bitten by midges (not midgets)

Finally the weather has turned nice, no more bloody rain! So what could possibly go wrong now? Midges (not midgets!) attacked me while i slept and bit my face and eyelid! When i first posted about these beasts From nits to midges, some people thought i meant midgets. So i will emphasise that i mean nasty biting insects which i think you call no see ums or punkies in the US?

Over here in the UK due to the normally appalling weather nobody that i know has screen on their windows, as its normally not necessary. Tomorrow whilst out hiking i will probably get eaten alive by the little buggers!

  8. I looked online because you piqued my interest: they're sand flies, sand gnats, punkies, midgies, no-see-ums. And, I guess they can cause a nasty infection. So be careful out there, wilderness girl!
Kern Co., my home, is currently the chief resident of mosquitoes with West Nile Virus. We've been declared an emergency by Gov. Terminator...Gotta wear our DEET!
