Italy part quattro. Up the mountain Prato fiorito
We were told by Roy our host (he made us) to go up the mountain as soon as possible otherwise the weather might turn and we wouldn't get great views. By mountain i mean Prato fiorito, i think but i am not a hundred percent certain it was called that.
So on Sunday we ate another humongous breakfast and headed up and up and up (in the car). Feeling the lazy, full and hot is not the best combination when attempting a climb but onwards we went. To be honest we had cheated by driving a fair way up and it was only 40 minutes to the top.
As Karen knew how much hiking i have done this year i don't think she was prepared for all the hoofing and poofing it took for me to get to the top (i blame the heat). Once we reached the top it was amazing! You could see for miles and from every direction the views were fantastic.
We had a wee rest as demonstrated by Karen in the photos above, then headed back down. During the trip down my water leaked in my bag and all over my pants, so it looked liked i pissed myself, of course loads of people decided to appear from nowhere at that moment!
What next? the medieval town of Montefegatesi and the walled city of Lucca.
