The Dandelion

TheDandelion collage

Hey I have had my first whirl at a collage and arty farty shots!
I entitle this
'The Dandelion'
It twas a dandelion growing amongst its many many brethren on an unkempt lawn, I photographed it, picked it and the wind blew it away.
How is that for a tragic but poetic tale?

Then I had to run inside and wash my hands as picking dandelions makes you wet your pants*

*This is what I was told as a child in school, that if you pick dandelions you will wet the bed.
I myself have not wet myself in a dandelion picking incident.

  1. You and that macro lens have become good friends already - lovely shots! But why, may I ask, do dandelions make you wet your pants??

  2. @Linda, its a lot harder to get use than I thought it would be, but I think I will be taking a lot more.

  4. The wish only comes true if you can blow away every single seed. Kinda like blowing out all the birthday candles. Great shots...and a "tragic tale." DID you wet your pants?

  5. Got ya all beat. I can disperse those seeds, sneeze AND pee my pants all at the same time! :) I bet that's what you did (with your sinuses all messed up!) didn't you Claire? LOL

BTW, can I be in your blogroll too?

  9. haha that's funny that you were told you'd wet the bed!! lol.

We always took them... then they were yellow... and put our thumbs under the flower head... flick our thumbs and say "momma had a baby and its head popped off"

    Weird I know

  10. @chrisc and jonj, Thanks! It was what one of the teachers told us when I was a wee child.

@this eclectic life, well I didn't even remember to make a wish, whoops! I did NOT wet my pants :)

@carol, you win, you definitely win! Plants don't irritate me its dust that gets me, so nope I did NOT do that :) You have been on my blogroll as webduck for way over a year. Did you mean another blog?

@stinkypaw, thanks I used a free program that I found, so I will be playing some more. I am not quite sure that wetting your pants is cute? heh! :)

@relax max, I shall bet that I have not :)

@erika, teachers are evil and will do anything to stop children having fun :)

  14. Dandelions are insidious but only in tea where they really are a natural diuretic.

If it wasn't picking dandelions then what was it?

  16. Hi claire

On this Memorial Day remember my friends who died for your freedom.

Dear Lord, lest I continue in my complacent ways, help me to remember that someone died for me today. And if there be war, help me to remember to ask and to answer “am I worth dying for?”~
